U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko visited the Halfmoon Fire Department on Thursday.

He spoke with members and got the chance to see the benefits delivered through the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program. This includes new equipment such as air packs for the department.

Halfmoon-Waterford Fire District No. 1 got a grant worth $309,000 from this program.
