The community is now rallying around a wounded marine from Lake George who hopes to attend a reunion in Florida.

“A Night for Sergeant Eddie Ryan” is being organized to help him get the transportation he needs to be reunited with some of the marines who saved his life.

As NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland reported last month, Ryan was a marine sniper who was shot in the head twice in Iraq and nearly killed. He’s confined to a wheelchair and cannot fly, so he needs a special vehicle with a lift to get to Florida to reconnect with his comrades.

Former Lake George Mayor Bob Blais has organized a public fundraiser for Wednesday, March 20 at the Holiday Inn Resort in Lake George from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Some of us from NewsChannel 13 will be there to lend a hand.
