The charity was started in memory of a fallen soldier from Lake George who was killed in Afghanistan.

The money was raised at the Lake George Village Oktoberfest, and the Adirondack Oktoberfest charity block parties. It’s the largest donation ever for these events.

People came from all over, including Tennessee, Georgia and Louisiana, and some even came from Europe.

The event is organized annually by the Adirondack Pub & Brewery in Lake George.
