Sand Creek Middle School Student Payton Rundell took center stage at the Siena men’s basketball game Thursday night. She came up short of making a half-court shot and winning a $10,000 gift card to Northeastern Fine Jewelry. However she did walk away with a $250 card for being a top scorer in the preliminary round, shooting 240 points in 3s. She’s donating the to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The history of brewing in Pittsfield dates back to the 18th century, and historian Cynthia Brown will detail where brewing beer started in Pittsfield, how it has evolved and where we are now with the rise of microbreweries. There will be samples for guests who are 21 and older. The lecture is set for March 23 at The Colonial Theater
