Fundraiser to help veterans with affordable housing

An organization looking to provide affordable housing to veterans is hosting a fundraiser this weekend. Veterans Time to Thrive will be hosting a car show Saturday at the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation’s Summer Concert Series. There’s a $10 donation for vehicle registration and 100% of proceeds go to VT3 and its mission to provide affordable housing to veterans.

Catskill kids raise money for animals

A group kids in Catskill have started a club to raise money for animals.
It’s called Fur, Feathers, Skin and Scales. They set up stands selling handmade items. Each stand supports a different endangered animal, from sea turtles to orangutans.

Troy firefighters host pop-up summer picnic

Troy firefighters are doing their part to help kids enjoy summer in the Collar City. Firefighters and police officers held a pop-up summer picnic last week at the School 12 Park. Members of the community were treated to burgers, hot dogs and freeze pops. People also had the chance to check out a firetruck and the Troy Police Command Center vehicle.

Legendary NBA coach at Proctors for 60th high school reunion

Legendary NBA coach Pat Riley was back in the Capital Region last week. He gathered with the entire Linton High School Class of 1963 for a reunion night at Proctors in Schenectady. Riley captured one NBA championship as a player and five as a head coach.
