Scholarship fundraiser honors teen killed in 2021

A fundraiser is being held later this month for the “My Destiny Scholarship Foundation.” It’s in honor of Destiny Greene, who was killed in 2021. The event is May 24 at the Diamond Centre by Glennpeter Jewelers. The foundation gives two scholarships to deserving high school graduates each year.

Free night for educators at Saratoga Automobile Museum

Educators can enjoy a free evening at the Saratoga Automobile Museum. It’s Thursday night, and you can get a chance to explore the Bond in Motion exhibit. It’s free for teachers, school administrators, after-school educators and camp staff.

Cohoes resident promoted in New York Army National Guard

Cohoes resident Mark Frank has been promoted to colonel in the New York Army National Guard. Frank joined the Army in 2000 and is a veteran of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and currently serves as the personnel officer for the New York Army National Guard. His assignments have included platoon leader, company commander, battalion and division personnel officer, battalion commander and executive officer to the adjutant general of New York.

Ballston Spa students to have art displayed at First Friday event

Students in the Ballston Spa School District will have their art displayed during the community’s First Friday event this week. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., downtown Ballston Spa will come alive with the sights and sounds of local art displays and activities. Visitors can expect to see artwork created by students from pre-K to high school.
