Check your Take 5 tickets – you might be a winner. A ticket worth nearly $20,000 was sold at the Stewart’s on North Greenbush Road in Rensselaer. It was a winner for the Saturday, February 18 drawing.
Art grant applications
The Arts Center of the Capital Region is accepting applications for its annual grant program, funded by New York state. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are available for small scale projects, individual artists, arts education and community arts. The deadline to apply is March 1. You can apply at this link.
Club for coffee lovers
Jacob Alejandro has launched the JA Coffee Club. The Troy coffee shop will release 20 handcrafted, barista-competition level drinks for two to three weeks each. Anyone who tries all 20 drinks will be inducted into the JA Coffee Club with special member benefits – including a club card, member discounts, a members-only party, early access to special coffee tastings and events, and other prizes.
Adirondack Thunder at Empire State Plaza
Families are invited to celebrate the season with the Adirondack Thunder. Players from the hockey team will take to the ice at the Empire State Plaza ice rink Wednesday to skate with and meet fans. There will also be a meet and greet and autograph signing.
Comfort dogs join Berkshire County school district
There are three new students at Lee Elementary, Middle, and High School, and all three of them are about the same age — almost a year old. All three are comfort dogs. Olli and Maci work at Lee Middle and High School, and Millie works at Lee Elementary School. If you’d like to get to know them better – all three dogs have Instagram and TikTok accounts.
