Waterford Canal Festival
The annual Canal Festival is coming back to Waterford. The event on May 21 and May 22 marks the opening of the New York state canal season. Visitors can stroll along the canal, join tours, see the locks in operation and explore the history of Waterford. You can also check out the vendors and enjoy delicious food while listening to live music. There will also be a bike safety rodeo, a canal trail bike ride, a fishing clinic and boat rides.
Cardona’s Market celebrates teachers
A popular local deli is saluting Capital Region educators. Cardona’s Market is celebrating “Teacher Appreciation Week” with a signature sandwich – “The Teacher’s Pet” – prosciutto, eggplant and tomato on a classic Italian roll with stracciatella cheese, garlic confit, olive oil and pepper relish. A portion of proceeds from the sales benefit the Albany Fund for Education. Customers are also invited to nominate a local school for a chance to win a Cardona’s sub lunch box package.
Ben Folds Five returning to Troy
The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall is excited to announce Ben Folds will return on Saturday, September 30. Folds was the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five, before finding success as a solo artist. Presale for the show starts Wednesday morning and tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m.
Aroma Joe’s opens in Troy
One of the nation’s leading handcrafted beverage chains opened its newest location in Troy on Monday morning. Aroma Joe’s is located at 666 Hoosick Street. It’s the first Aroma Joe’s in New York state. Customers can find handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks, unique infused blends, signature AJ’s Rush energy drinks and food served in a friendly and upbeat environment.
