Toilet paper campaign nets over 12,000 rolls for charity
First New York Federal Credit Union donated more than 12,000 rolls of toilet paper rolls to Catholic Charities Tri-County Services.
Those rolls were then transformed into several large Christmas trees.
Volunteers knocked those trees down to bring them to Catholic Charities’ five food pantries and two soup kitchens in the Capital Region.
There has been a 13% increase of people asking for Catholic Charities to help them in the past three months, according to the executive director.
The organization serves 14 counties around the Capital Region.
This was the event’s eighth year.
