More than 1,500 people will run and walk in the name of heart health this Sunday for the Capital Region Heart Walk.

This year’s heart hero is Emma Duncan. She’s 13 years old and was born with congenital heart defects.

She had open-heart surgery at four months old, and lives an active, happy life.

This year’s stroke ambassador for the walk is Heather Wells.

She was 46 and very healthy, with no risk factors or warning signs – when she had a stroke last October.

The run starts at 8 a.m., and the walk starts at 10:10. There are lots of activities for families and kids. It all takes place at the Harriman State Office Building Campus in Albany. There is still time to register.
