Alzheimer’s caregivers play important role

This week ahead of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, NewsChannel 13 has been highlighting the Promise Garden flowers, which represent the people in the fight against the disease.

Each color represents a different person. For example, orange represents supporters of the Alzheimer’s Association and purple is for people who have lost someone to the disease. The yellow flower represents caregivers.

Beth Smith-Boivin, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association, said the millions of caregivers play an important role. They save the health care industry billions of dollars.
