CDC: Chronic health conditions now affecting 40 million young adults

The CDC says chronic health conditions now affect almost 40 million Americans between the ages 18 and 34.

The most common condition is obesity, at 25%. That is followed by depression at 21%, and high blood pressure, at 11%.

Rounding out the top five are high cholesterol and asthma.

The study also found nearly one in every four have two or more of these conditions.

Unhealthy lifestyles were a big reason for young people to have chronic conditions.

The CDC says addressing health behaviors among young adults can help improve long-term health and well-being.
