A clinical trial to treat an aggressive type of brain tumor is underway at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Researchers hope the medication will keep the tumor from coming back.

“This medicine – the SurVaxM – is designed to stimulate the immune system to attack a protein that sits on the surface of the glioblastoma cells, but not the surface of any normal cells,” said Dr. David Peereboom with Cleveland Clinic.

Researchers hope the medicine will keep the tumor at bay.

The clinical trial is ongoing at Cleveland Clinic and accepting new participants.
