CPSC commissioner calls for gas stove ban
A commissioner with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is proposing a ban on gas stoves, calling them a hidden hazard.
This comes after a recent study has estimated that as many as one in eight childhood asthma cases in the United States is connected to the presence of a gas stove in a home.
The commissioner said that products that can’t be made safe can be banned.
A spokesperson for the commission said that there’s been no official proposal on the matter and that any action to regulate the appliance would be lengthy.
