Experts say simple meditation can do wonders for health

The practice of meditation can be daunting if you’ve never tried it, but experts say it’s worth it for your health.
Even if you start off small, it will make a difference, helping to calm your mind and give you a sense of peace.
First, they recommend sit in a quiet space with no distractions. Then close your eyes and focus on your breathing. You don’t have to sit there for long. Just a few minutes can help.
“Clinical research has indicated that meditation is great for the body and the mind. Studies have shown that it helps to decrease stress, increase your ability to deal with anxiety, chronic health issues and helps you to cope with pain, to sleep better and to reduce your blood pressure,” said Dr. Susan Albers with Cleveland Clinic.
Albers says if you have trouble meditating on your own, there are many apps and video guides you can download to help.
