Fall is good time to schedule your child’s physical
With school back in session, it’s a good time to schedule your child’s physical.
Children should get a yearly physical starting at age 3. These visits help doctors catch and address anything abnormal early on.
“They’re about physical health, mental health, about preventative medicine, about anticipatory guidance, what we can expect. Just the whole gamut. We don’t just want to make sure your body is healthy. We want to make sure everything is healthy,” said Dr. Gina Robinson, of the Cleveland Clinic.
“Kids have a lot of questions, but they don’t always ask them, but if they come in and see me every year, I think they can get more comfortable,” Robinson added.
As for those questions, it’s a good idea to have kids write them down beforehand. That way, they don’t forget about one during their doctor’s visit.
