The FDA says parents should not use infant head shaping pillows to change a baby’s head shape or symmetry.

The agency warns these products can create an unsafe sleep environment for babies. That can increase their risk of suffocation and death.

The National Institutes of Health and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend infants sleep without any pillows, toys or loose bedding nearby.

Instead they should be on their backs in an empty crib.
