Narcan to reverse opioid overdoses now offered at Guilderland Public Library

An initiative to fight against the opioid epidemic continues to bring tools closer to residents in Albany County.

Doses of Narcan to reverse overdoses can now be found right in the Guilderland Public Library.
County Executive Dan McCoy joined community leaders Wednesday to announce the partnership, in conjunction with Catholic Charities.

Other units are already installed in two other Capital Region libraries, at the Capital City Rescue Mission and at UAlbany.

There were more than 130 overdoses in Albany County last year, said the county executive’s office.
