Parents are expressing concern about tainted applesauce pouches that poisoned multiple children.

Some parents spoke to NBC News, saying they fear potential long-term health issues for kids that ate the pouches. Several of the children are now faced with the negative effects of lead exposure.

Lead exposure can damage the brain and nervous system, slow growth and cause issues with hearing and speech and lower IQ, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
