Study: Avocados may lower bad cholesterol

A new study in the Journal of the American Heart Association found participants who ate an avocado a day had lower levels of cholesterol in general and lower bad cholesterol in particular.

High cholesterol levels have been linked in other research to coronary heart disease.

However, the new study found no evidence that a daily avocado contributed to weight gain.

It is important to add that the study was sponsored by the Hass Avocado Board.
