Bennington welcomes new healthy food market

A healthy food market is opening in downtown Bennington this week.
The Bennington Community Market will be on Main Street in the old LaFlamme’s Furniture building.
The market says its goal is to support local farmers, increase access to healthy food and to contribute to the revitalization of downtown Bennington.
The market will accept SNAP benefits and eventually be able to participate in the WIC program.
A healthy food access fund will provide discounts to neighbors in need.
A healthy food market is opening in downtown Bennington this week.
Customers will find fresh produce, meat, dairy and other products from local farms and food producers. Some food will be made right in the market.
There will also be a wine and beer selection from the local business Couch & Cork.
Bennington Community Market will be open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
