Local artist and entrepreneur Joe Ferris is becoming a popular feature at area events for his caricatures.

In just a matter of minutes, Ferris uses his skill and talent to create an image of any person in a fun and entertaining fashion.

Ferris does birthday parties, wedding and business parties.

He said he enjoys the social aspect of doing live caricatures.

“I attended a school for art called the Center for Cartoon Studies that was more focused on comic book making, which I love, but is also very isolating,” said Ferris. “The cool thing about caricatures is that I’m able to pursue art but also be out in the community meeting new people.”

When he is back in his studio, Ferris also creates watercolor portraits of pets and families from photos that clients submit.
