Longtime local company Carpetland has a new home in Saratoga Springs.

A new showroom has opened at 11 Aletta St. less than a mile away from its former site.

Fourth-generation owner Kate Morrell, who recently took over the business, is excited about the new space.

“Carpetland 77 years ago started in Amsterdam on my great-grandparents’ property. It was about 1,000 square feet,” Morrell said. “Then about 50 years ago, my father, who was third-generation, opened the store in Saratoga,” she said. 

Carpetland offers a wide variety of floor coverings, including hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and carpeting – all at competitive prices. The company also takes pride in its high-level customer service.

“If something happens or if you need something, you can actually call us directly instead of going to a big-box store,” she said.

Most of the installers have 15 or more years of experience.

Morrell aims to keep the business going for many years to come by maintaining its old school charm while also embracing innovation.
