Common Roots Brewing Company is branching out into making coffee.

The brewery recently opened The Café in the new Bierhall & Barrel Event Center next to its flagship facility in South Glens Falls.

Co-founder and head brewer Christian Weber said coffee is something he’s always been excited about. 

“We’re all big coffee drinkers here, but we also produce a lot of beers that have coffee in it,” he said. “We had gone to a coffee school, a group of us, and got a coffee roaster and started roasting.”

The café offers walk-up counter service for coffee, tea and select breakfast items made with local ingredients.

It is open Monday through Fridays 7 a.m. to noon. When the taproom opens at noon, The café closes and is available for events in the afternoon.

Common Roots is also opening its new Albany Outpost in 2024.
