Fonda Speedway honored as Montgomery County Business of the Month

The fastest business in Montgomery County is now its Business of the Month.

Fonda Speedway is a half-mile clay oval track located on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. It hosts weekly stock car racing from April through September.

The speedway opened in 1953 and is among the most historic tracks in the country.

Fonda Speedway annually pays out the richest winner’s share in dirt track modified racing, with the Fonda 200. The event in September offers a $53,000 prize to the winner.

The speedway also hosts an Autism Awareness Night, with proceeds going to the Crossroads Center for Children in Schenectady. The event raised $30,000 last year.

The fastest business in Montgomery County is now its “Business of the Month.”
