Food, beverage firms seen big boom in employment

Food and beverage manufacturers have seen a boom in business since the pandemic.

By the spring of 2023, the Capital Region had 205 companies that employed close to 4,000 people. That is a major increase from the spring of 2019.

Among the companies that have been driving growth are Belgioioso Cheese and Adirondack Beverage, both in Glenville, and MyForest Foods in Green Island.

In 2024, the Capital Region has surpassed Central New York for food and beverage manufacturing jobs.
