Lazy Dog Cookie Company celebrates anniversary

The Lazy Dog Cookie Company is celebrating its 22nd anniversary.

The company, which was founded in 2001, makes treats for furry, four-legged fans.

It has grown from a small home-based business to a wholesale dog treat manufacturer that ships its products across the country and beyond.

Co-owner Keith Augustine is proud of what the Saratoga Springs company has accomplished.

“When we first started the business here in Greenfield Center, we actually converted the garage of our house into a full bakery. With two employees, it was quite an endeavor,” he said. “We used to have tractor-trailers back up our driveway and deliver products. Now, we’re in a 10,000-square-foot facility with 12 employees and we work with just about every major national pet retailer.”

Augustine aims to keep growing the business and expanding its distribution around the globe.
