More than 15 restaurants are participating in a new initiative to promote local Black-owned businesses.

The first 518 Black Restaurant Week is getting ready to kick off. It’s set for June 19-25.

You’ll find great places to dine across the Capital Region because restaurants in Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Cohoes are joining the effort.

The goal of the week is to bring awareness to Black-owned restaurants in the Capital Region.

Businesses will be offering three-course prix fixe menus for $35. Both dine-in and takeout will be available depending on the business.

Restaurants like Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen, Johnnie’s on Broadway, Nelly’s Treats, and Juice Factory are participating.
