A new Pittsfield brewery is opening and will be holding daily events inspired by each of its first 10 beers.

Hot Plate Brewing Company is kicking things off on February 16 to celebrate the release of Onota, the brewery’s American pale ale.

The brewery was founded by a pair of award-winning homebrewers, who recently made the jump into brewing commercially.

The inspiration for their beers comes from eclectic sources, from honoring musicians like Ben Folds and the Wu-Tang Clan to filmmakers like Wes Anderson and actors like Daniel Day-Lewis to historical figures, all of Hot Plate’s beers are intended to tell a story.

The goal is to provide new entry points for consumers who wouldn’t normally see themselves as beer drinkers.

For Hot Plate’s 10-day celebration, they will be teaming up with local musicians, artists and business owners.
