WNYT welcomes new weeknight co-anchor

Steve Kuzj, will be joining NewsChannel 13 and My4 as an Anchor and Reporter alongside Rachel Tiede on NewsChannel 13 Live at 5p, 9p and 11p starting Monday, March 4th.

Kuzj has more than 15 years of journalistic experience, covering everything from police chases and wildfires to earthquakes and shark attacks. He’s worked in multiple markets across the country, including ABC 15 in Phoenix, KTLA in Los Angeles and, most recently, at WPIX in New York, and has won regional Emmys for both news and weather reporting.

“Steve is a dynamic professional who has a passion for journalism and its impact on our community,” News Director Michael Raffaele said. “We’re excited about him becoming a part of our team as we uphold our promise of providing ‘coverage you can trust.’”

While his career has taken him from one side of the country to the other, Steve is no stranger to the Capital Region. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Saratoga Springs, where his wife grew up.

“I got into journalism because I love to tell stories and share experiences,” Kuzj said, “I’ve covered the thrilling, the jaw dropping, and the heartbreaking events of humanity in some of the biggest cities across this country. To be able to do that now here in the Capital Region, close to family and friends, with a station and team as reputable as NewsChannel 13 is more than just a privilege — it’s a mission. I’m looking forward to talking to viewers and everyone who calls upstate New York home. If you see me out and about, please stop and say ‘hi’. And if you’ve got a story to tell, I want to help you tell it.”

You can watch Steve weeknights Live at 5 and 11 on NewsChannel 13, and Live at 9 on My4 beginning Monday, March 4th.
