Woman accused of trying to smuggle weapon into Coxsackie Correctional Facility

A woman was arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle a weapon into an inmate at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility, according to the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association.

Dyanna Sanchez went to visit an inmate when an x-ray machine revealed a sharp object in her bag, they said.

The bag was searched, and a five-inch sharp utility knife was found, they said.

Sanchez was taken to the state police barracks in Coxsackie.
