Police sent out this photo of the dog when they originally began looking for the suspect.
Albany Police found a woman they say abandoned a dog in the Pine Bush in hot weather, without food or water.
Rachel Gibson, 33, is charged with animal cruelty and animal abandonment.
Gibson told a 14-year-old girl to tie the dog to the tree back on April 13 near New Karner Road and Old State Road, said police, while a 12-year-old girl watched from the car.
Temperatures were in the 80s at the time.
Gibson also faces a child endangerment charge.
The dog is recovering at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
