A woman has died and a man seriously hurt after a crash in Glenville on Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 9 a.m. on Maple Avenue. A 32-year-old man was driving south on Maple Avenue toward Freemans Bridge Road, when he crossed into the other lane. He hit a guardrail, then a pole and the vehicle overturned, according to Glenville Police Chief Stephen Janik.

The female passenger died. Her name is not being released until her next-of-kin is notified.

The driver was flown to Albany Medical Center in serious condition.

The crash is under investigation and charges are pending, police said.
