Woman dies in Pittsfield fire
Woman who was pulled from a fire on Marlboro Road has died.
The woman who was pulled from a burning home in Pittsfield on Monday night has died from her injuries.
Susan Steenstrup, 67, was rescued from the home at 1 Marlboro Drive through a second-floor window just before 7 p.m. She was taken to Berkshire Medical Center, where she later died, according to the NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle.
Firefighters had difficulty navigating the stairs because of hording conditions, the paper reported.
No one else was hurt, firefighters said.
The fire started in the kitchen and was quickly put out, investigators said.
