Wrong-way driver on I-90 charged with DWI
A Connecticut man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was driving wrong way on I-90.
State Police said troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Edilson Joviana Pereira, 35, of West Hartford, after they observed it going west in the eastbound lanes just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 18.
Joviana Pereira also was charged with reckless endangerment and traffic violations. He recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.18% – more than twice the legal limit. Joviana Pereira was issued tickets and released to a sober third party. He is due in Albany City Criminal Court on Sept. 3.
No one was injured.
