Wynantskill homeowner crying foul over incomplete work by contractor

Wynantskill homeowner scammed out of $25,000

A Wynantskill home owner is upset with a homebuilder she says took her money and has not completed work ont he job.

A Wynantskill homeowner believes she was scammed by a local contractor, she said.

The homeowner, who did not wish to be identified, said she hired Hodorowski Homes to build her dream home.

She closed on the home in November and moved into it in December.

She paid over $400,000 for the home, which includes $25,000 for landscaping.

“We were so excited. It was almost surreal. We worked really hard for decades to get to this point,” she said.

However, it has turned into a nightmare. The front yard is not done. There is no grass and no landscaping.

Hodorowski Homes was founded 40 years ago in the Capital Region. They handle homebuilding services from land development to home framing.

“I did my homework and going into this deal with Hodorowski, I was confident that we were going to get what we paid for,” she said.

The exterior of the home is yet to be completed. She has been digging into the issue and has been seeing things online and hearing about the company not finishing jobs.

“I’m finding out that this company, I’m guessing, is not doing well,” she said.

NewsChannel 13 has reached out to Hodorowksi Homes for comment.
