Albany man admits to manslaughter in connection with July 2021 shooting death.

An Albany man faces up to 15 years in state prison in a 2021 shooting.

Nicholas Anderson, 30, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Monday to first-degree manslaughter.

Anderson killed Rashad Nicholson on July 24, 2021, in the area of 3rd and Oak streets in Albany. He also possessed an illegal, loaded firearm. 

Anderson was initially charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, but pleaded guilty to the manslaughter charge.

Anderson is due to be sentenced on June 7.

This will run consecutively to another prison term that he’s currently serving.
