Bennington man accused of driving while intoxicated

A Bennington man is accused of driving while intoxicated.

Vermont State Police were called to Prospect Mountain Ski area in the town of Woodford around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday.

When troopers arrived at the ski area, they say Timothy Maroney, 36, showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, police said.

Police in Bennington also got a call that same day, reporting Maroney was also passed out in his truck there, they said. However, police could not locate him.

Maroney was released on a citation and is due back in Bennington County Superior Court on March 18.
