Brooklyn man guilty of possessing drugs after Troy trial

A Brooklyn man could spend up to 17 years in prison after being convicted on drug charges.

Zachary Jonas, 38, was found guilty following a jury trial of two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by New York State Police in Troy on Oct. 11, 2022 and had more than 4 ounces of cocaine and over $14,000 cash in his possession, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office.

Jonas will be sentenced on Jan. 11.
