Buying whipped cream cans in NY? Bring your ID.

It is illegal for people under 21 to buy a can of whipped cream in New York state.

The new law actually went into effect last November. However, stores such as Stewart’s in Menands have a sign up saying they will now be carding people to prove their age.

Supporters of the bill say the nitrous oxide in the whipped cream chargers could get teens high.

Violations could mean fines of $250 for a first offense, and $500 for each additional offense.
