WEST HAVEN, Conn. – A group of girls in Connecticut is blazing a new trail.

They are now the first Boy Scout troop for girls in the city.

They have grown up together in Girl Scouts, taking road trips to Washington, D.C. and Savannah, Georgia.

They’ve had fun, but felt they wanted to do more.

Boy Scout troops made up of girls are growing. Their parents say it’s helping them become strong women.

The girls say their friends are happy they are starting the group, and those that don’t like it don’t have to do it.

Meet some of the members by watching the video.
