An Albany County judge has dismissed two convictions against a man who has already spent more than two decades in prison.

Alphonso Davis was found guilty of murder and attempted murder in 2001 in connection to a deadly shooting in Albany’s South End.

Those charges came from evidence gathered by Det. Kenneth Wilcox, who has since been linked with three other cases that had tainted confessions.

Davis was released from Great Meadow Correctional Facility to his wife on Thursday, The Times Union reported.
