An Olathe, Kansas man has created a phone booth where people can speak to loved ones who passed.

The concept of a “wind phone” comes from a Japanese practice used for processing grief, and getting a chance to say the things we wish we could have said.

The phone is not connected to anything. The idea is that the messages said aloud are symbolically delivered by the wind.

The phone booth’s creator built it in honor of his sister-in-law, who passed away last year.

Hear a mental health expert explain why this can really be a helpful tool in dealing with grief by watching the video from KSHB.
