Kansas WWII veteran, 95, receives high school diploma

Wilbur Nachtigal, 95, received his diploma in Kansas this past weekend after a 78-year delay.
Nachtigal would have been a graduate in the year 1946, but he chose to serve his country – joining the Marine Corps during World War II. He held the rank of Private First Class.
For his selfless act, Halstead High gladly awarded him his long-awaited diploma.
Three generations of his family were there to share the special moment.
