A 76-year-old Greene County man was sentenced on Friday to nearly 15 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Gregory Kurzajczyk, of East Durham, was convicted in October following a three-day jury trial.

Kurzajcyzk had previously served prison time from January 2017 through October 2021 for child pornography possession. During a home visit in February 2022, a probation officer found an unauthorized laptop in plain view. That led to the discovery of two more unauthorized computer devices, many of them hidden under the covers of his bed, prosecutors said.

The two laptops and two USB drives contained a large amount of pornographic material including image and video files depicting the abuse of small children.

In addition, he will have to pay $39,000 to victims whose images of sexual abuse he possessed.
