Middleburgh man charged with murder; Fulton resident accused of helping to conceal corpse

A Middleburgh man is charged with murder.

Michael Todtschinder, 24, is accused of shooting Jeffrey E. Mickle, also of Middleburgh, who was last seen on Nov. 25, the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office began a missing person’s investigation, which led to the discovery of Mickle’s body with appear gunshot wounds.

Police located Todtschinder in Dalton, Pennsylvania and he was arrested with the assistance of Pennsylvania State Police. He is being held at the Lackawanna County Correctional Facility awaiting extradition.

In addition, Walter J. Fahrenkopf, 39, was charged with concealment of a human corpse. He allegedly assisted Todtschinder with concealing the crime. He was arraigned in Schoharie County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent without bail to Schoharie County Jail.
