The nation’s first fully electric firetruck has been built in Minnesota.

It’s Rosenbauer America’s RTX pumper truck, which was made in Wyoming, Minnesota.

The rig features both front and rear wheel steering, and can be fully charged in about an hour.

The electric pumper carries a price tag of about $1.1 million, compared to $800,000 for a comparable diesel-powered truck.

Rosenbauer is promoting the use of state and federal energy efficiency grants to help cities afford making the jump to a zero-emission vehicle.
