Troy man facing drug and weapons charges after a search of his home found a gun and crack cocaine

A Troy man is facing drug and weapons charges after a search of his home Monday night.

Troy Police detectives, members of the Emergency Response Team and Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office investigators searched a home at 10 Mann Ave. The search found a loaded firearm with the serial number scratched off, crack cocaine and fentanyl, police said.

Matthew F. Durand, 23, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance-intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Durand was arraigned in Troy City Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail.
