Remains of Pittsfield native killed in Japan Osprey crash to arrive home on Friday

The remains of Air Force SSgt. Jacob Galliher, of Pittsfield, will be arriving back in Massachusetts on Friday. Galliher was killed in a crash of an Osprey during a training mission off the coast of Japan.

The remains of Air Force SSgt. Jacob Galliher, of Pittsfield, will be arriving back in Massachusetts this afternoon.

Galliher was killed in a crash of an Osprey during a training mission off the coast of Japan. He was a 2017 graduate of Taconic High School.  

Galliher will arrive at Westover Air Force Base around 3:15 Friday afternoon.

A procession will travel on the Massachusetts Turnpike to downtown Lee, then through downtown Lenox via Walker Street. The route will continue to Pittsfield via Route 7 (South Street) to Park Square, where they will turn left onto West Street to Taconic High School.

The procession will travel back to North Street, turn left down North Street and end at Dery Funeral Home located on Bradford Street.

Members of the public can join people along the route beginning at 5:15 p.m. in Lee and 5:45 p.m. in Pittsfield.
