Every New York City mayor in history has battled rats. But for current mayor Eric Adams, the war on vermin has become a focus.

Adams announced this past week that Kathleen Corradi will be the city’s first ever Director of Rodent Mitigation, also known as New York’s “Rat Czar.”

Corradi previously worked on rodent mitigation for New York’s Department of Education.

Corradi said her focus will be on cutting off the “food, water and shelter rats need to survive.”
